Culture Medium for Fruit Flies

Our instant formula for Drosophila culture. This premium blend is fortified with minerals, trace elements, vitamins and carotenoids to maximize the nutritional value of fruit flies when used as food.

INGREDIENTS: Potato Granules, Dry Brewer's Yeast, Fructose, Hominy Food, Alfalfa Flour, Cinnamon, Dried Seaweed, Dried Watermelon, Rosehip, Hibiscus Flower, Calendula Flower, Paprika, Turmeric, Salt, Citric Acid, Chelate Magnesium Amino Acid, Zinc Methionine Amino Acid Chelate, Manganese Methionine Amino Acid Chelate, Copper Methionine Amino Acid Chelate, Selenium Yeast. Calcium Propionate, Methylparaben and Potassium Sorbate (as preservatives). Vitamins: (Vitamin A Supplement, Vitamin D3 Supplement, Calcium L-Ascorbyl-2-Monophosphate, Vitamin E Supplement, Niacin, Beta Carotene, Calcium d Pantothenate, Riboflavin, Pyridoxine Hydrochloride, Thiamine Mononitrate, Folic Acid , Biotin, Vitamin B-12 Supplement, Menadione Sodium Bisulfite Complex).

GUARANTEED ANALYSIS: Crude Protein min. 12%, Crude Fat min. .8%, Crude Fiber max. 2%, Humidity max. 8%, Ash max. 7%, Calcium min. .5%.

DIRECTIONS: To make a typical culture (32 oz. container), add between 3 tablespoons (typical when using boiling water) and 4 tablespoons (typical when using hot tap water) of SuperFly medium to 2/3 cup of water prepared and stir until combined. The final mixture should be thin enough to flatten when the container is tapped on the table. Add water or medium to adjust consistency if necessary. Let cool before adding flies. Add flies and keep at about 75°F. The culture should begin producing larvae in 5-15 days and flies in 10-30 days depending on temperature and species. Yields up to one culture per dry ounce.
